Dave Mail 29: Doepfer and the Moogerfoogers

A lot of the Stadium Arcadium sounds were credited to the Doepfer A-100. I believe that taking that synth on tour would be impossible, even though John Frusciante used it on a few solo shows in 2003 and 2004. I want to know how did you guys decide to use the Moogerfooger pedals to emulate those sounds live?

Dave Lee: "Using the Moogerfoogers was an idea John came up with. To be honest, that modular synth was a nightmare to work with. John had a lot of fun with it. But I couldn't stand it. The patch cables were cheap, and constantly failing. And the Moogerfoogers weren't all that road worthy either. They broke down quite regularly. I recently saw some of that stuff at the NAMM show. Just shook my head and kept walkin. Lol."
