Dave Mail 74: Dave Lee joining the Chili Peppers' crew

Dave, how did you hear about the Chili Peppers for the first time and how did you end up working as a tech, and with the band?

Dave Lee: "A guy I had worked with for Suicidal Tendencies named Brian Doyle had landed the gig as Flea's tech. They were prepping for the One Hot Minute tour. Dave Navarro's regular tech was working for another band. So I was hired to just take care of Dave in the rehearsals (two weeks). But then his guy ended up staying with that other band, and Dave said "Do you want to do the tour?" It didn't take me long to say "Well, yeah!"

As far as 'hearing about the Chili Peppers'. Who hasn't heard of the Chili Peppers? Lol."
