August 27, 2017, marks 10 years since the end of the Stadium Arcadium tour, and with the end of the tour, the end of a cycle. What's the main memory (or thought or feeling) that you think of when remembering those 12 years with the Red Hot Chili Peppers? Thank you for being a huge part of it!
Dave Lee: "Wow...? Good question.
There are so many things to remember, it's hard to nail one down.
I feel blessed. And probably just plain lucky to have been in the right place, at the right time, to have landed that job with RHCP. It changed my life. In many ways.
It's always fun when someone asks who else I've worked for. When I mention RHCP they always light up. Almost nobody doesn't love those guys.
Just a couple of weeks ago, I was working a show with Maroon 5. And the bassist for the local support act had a Fender 'Flea signature jazz' bass.
I asked him about it. And he started to tell me about how much that bass meant to him. Then I was able to tell him about the part I played in Flea acquiring the original one, and the crazy story behind it. It was really fun to tell this guy that story.
I have to count my blessings. I've gotten to see things, do things, go places, meet people (heroes), and just experience things that I never dreamed I'd ever get to experience.
It's been a good run. Lol."
