What was a typical recording day at John Frusciante's studio house for you? He's a person who seems to live for his music, and in 2003 and 2004 he was recording all those albums, and spending entire nights working - the same can be said for Stadium Arcadium and The Empyrean. Did you ever have to "live" at John's house? Anthony Kiedis once said that Frusciante doesn't seem to function at the same atmosphere as other people, 'he's definitely a genius... he's got that mad scientist... but he doesn't know how to drive a car'.
Dave Lee: "Lol. I didn't ever have to live at John's house. He lived about 40 minutes (or less) from my house. But there sure were some late nights.
It's true. I've never seen him drive a car. During that time, I filled in for his assistant two days a week. John's assistant is also his driver. So for two days a week I'd drive him around if he wanted to go somewhere. Besides doing the tech job."
