Dave Mail 90: Boss DS-2 - Frusciante and Navarro

We know that the DS-2, since the late 80's, when John first joined the band, was used by all guitarists that passed through the Red Hot Chili Peppers (Arik, Dave Navarro and Josh). Dave Navarro used it by influence of John Frusciante? How did he use it? Was it the main drive or he shared it with the JCM 900 drives?

Dave Lee: "Dave Navarro really wasn't much influenced by John. At least it didn't seem that way to me. I remember him once saying that he doesn't much like funk music. He's really his own guy. I think he was more influenced by 80's metal. I remember he could play about any Iron Maiden song in their catalog."
